View Full Version : sprayin Rims !! and general stuff

help !!

peeps i wana spray my rims, was wondering if any one had any ideas of what sorta paint would be best and last longest im looking to spray them gold if that helps ?


also How often should i be changing my engine oil ??
im riding my bike approxamately 2 hours a day havent used a full fuel tank but have poored about 750ml of oil in over about 6 days !

thought this seems a bit thirsty for oil ? :confused: ne ideas or info ..

might need some advice on full fitting of front brake calipers ect ect...
anything i need to watch out for any tips ?

my engine uses a fair bit of oil too, i dont think this weather helps either :p

One of my mates who has done lots of bikes, uses plastikote for wheels, I have never used it myself as I tend to use 2k paint out of a spray gun.

my wheels were gold but faded n looked ****e so sprayed them up in gloss black now they look **** hot!!

just sanded them down for ages to leave scratches for the paint to stick
gave it 2 or 3 thin coats of grey primer and left for 15mins after each coat

then gave it about 5 layers of gloss followed by 2 layers of laquer

when doing them u just need to make sure u keepin moving and spraying
if ya stop for a sec and hold it youll leave a wet splodge!

what about spokes, do you remove or mask off?

wtf i never top mine up :icon_lol: my oil is going to stay in there for another year before i eventually replace it :icon_lol:
