I bought some cheap 12 quid ebay tyres, they are Barum tyres.
They are pretty hard, and they take a lap or so to warm up, but they are OK, I could get the pegs down and my knee down and they let you brake pretty hard whilst laid over.
Overall, for the price, you cant go wrong.
They do slide a bit, but thats OK as when the bikes sliding, you know where you are and what the bike is doing. There is nothing worse than a bike that is gripping, then suddenley letting go without warning.

I have only been at Trax, but be warned, if the tracks wet they are absolutley rubbish, no feel and they slide and let go really early, I could just about keep up with a lad with Savas in the wet, but it was sketchy at every corner and had to ride with my foot on the floor so I could catch it before i was on my ear. Fun for a few laps, not much fun beyond that!
Although, that could be the tracks surface rather than the tyres themselves.

I found running 25psi in the front, and 20psi in the back gave the best feel for these tyres, higher pressures gave less feel, lower pressures made the tryes flex too much and unsettle the bike.

I have just bought some Bridgestone BT39SS soft compound for this years Winter series, i got them as in a race I want as much grip as I can get as everyone else will have race tyres on. They cost 58 quid.
