Thumpstars, xsports and monstermotos all go well on track. A lot of the riders would be quick on any bike:eek: Most have spent a bit on tuning parts. I run an xsport with Lifan 120 lump. Matt has 125 gongdu. Both go well enough but couldn't touch some bikes on the straights! You've gotta make it up in the twisties! We've stuck a few bits on now for next year;)

I'm hoping to be spending around £500 for a bike.
That'll bring me out of the chinese rubbish wont it?
Thanks, Tom.

I know....people keep biging up thumps and x's as they are some kinda superbikes, yes they ARE chinnese as well.....d'oh..... all using the same sort of component manufacturer's as the unbrandeds, thing is they bought themselves a high profile.
Spares are no longer a problem with most of these bike unless you go for odd things like drum brakes and semi auto boxes.
NOT ALL CHINKY BIKES ARE RUBBISH! but some are less GOOD.
If you know about bikes and can spot a decent bike there are some cracking unbranded bargain Pits out there, but if you got loads of dosh and little technical knowledge go for the BRANDS, personally I saved loads buying unbranded bikes made by the same chinky manufacturers that make the so called Big Brands.
The biggest worry with Pits is a reputable supplier, as shown by Power off road disaster.

As my last reply clearly showed; im no expert on pit bikes
Guess all I can do is to keep on learning
Like haveagoade said; people keep making it out that they ain't chinese so that had me thinking they werent, with the exception of BAM

Thumps and X's are top bikes, but they are not the one and only Pits, if you like your Brands and feel "safe" riding a brand name ok, I like to save my dosh for other things than a fancy sticker to blow off after the first powerwash.
But you gotta give respect to the brands for raising the profile of pit bikeing.

I'm not that bothered about the brand as long as its something that will resist the bashing of a beginners riding, has easy to replace parts and a good after market range.
Although having a brand with a good profile does make you feel safer, you have to admit that

With your budget in mind, have a look at http://www.fasttoys.co.uk/WK.htm for the White Knuckle range of bikes. They keep plenty of spares on hand and have great customer service. There are a few new models that will be ready for sale soon, including a 138cc model. Contact me if interested as we are a White Knuckle and Monstermoto dealer. Cheers

recon you cant go far wrong building from scratch, your gonna change most or the parts anyway especially if you've got a non branded.
Depends how serious you are.:)

You're wrong mate....maybe one person did, but I know for fact that the winner of the 125 Senior class did not get his bike free

Hi Porkie
I would say go for a second hand thumpstar about 6 months old which you can pick up for about £550
These have been the leading brand for many years and Monstermoto are the only ones who can compete with them but there £949.49!!!
I have a Thumpstar 120 Pro elite and it will wheelie in all gears and is a robust and very well built bike that has never let me down or the bloke who had it before(who's my best mate so i know lol)
Hope this helps
