hi, i am quite new to pitbiking and im from notts and theyre isnt really many places to ride so that sucks lol but it has not stopped me.
Here is my bike, not quite sure what it is but ive had it for a while now and had no probs really, except little things that are inevitable. I have added a foam air filter for off-road use and ***bly tyres which are most suited to the terrain i ride-very muddy & grassy- and a quick action throttle.

Hey Dan that a tidy looking bike quality bits on it!
The chain looks a bit slack on it I think it needs a spot of tightening, let me know if you wanna know how to.Altough it looks fully extended to me already.

yeah i noticed that wen i was taking the picture lol, its the tensioners on the rear axle right?

Hey Dan! sweet ride man!
Did that front caliper come with the bike? it looks nice and big, I have a single pot one on my bike but its absolute cheese! and I could really do with a better one as I do Supermoto mostly, and have found myself overshooting corners because the front brake is so crap

yeah it came with the bike, im actaully having a problem with my rear caliper, the pads wore down within the first 2 weeks of riding when i was only running in, so i took it apart to check it was clean and one of the pistons wasnt moving so one pad wears alot more than the other, and i cant seem to fix this. any ideas?

Yeah thats right....but they look to the max extension already so if its still slack its gonna need a new chain, cos you don't want that flying off and ripping the bike to shreds.
How much slack is actually in it?

Thats the trouble with wavey's they wear through pads as though it cheese on a grater.:D
Stick to good old round drilled disc discs:cool:

oh ok, well if its sticking you may want to try getting hold of some "Copper Grease", its a special kinda grease to use with brake systems. It special because I think if you get it on your pads by accident it will just burn off and not ruin them like normal grease. It will sort out stiking parts, and brakes that speak (if you smear a bit on the pads back plates).
But you need to try see if the problems further up and that something isnt do its job to drive the piston at all.
But yeah if you think its sticking get some copper grease.

i just checked and there's about 2 -3inches slack which is obv too much and ive tightened it up now, what is the distance that is safe to have the chain movement?

wow 2-3" slack.....good job you gotta chain tensioner and chain guide , if you hadn't that chain would',ve flown ages ago.
My Manual reckons on a up and down mid way between off 15-20mm, thats less than an inch

Check those pads move in the caliper freely when off the disc, if necessary clean the slots in the caliper of dirt corrosion and smear with copper grease. If they still stick then its a sticky piston, which might be cured by stripping the piston down and cleaning, but check the seals are still sound and don't damage them.
