hi can anyone help my friend has just installed his cover on his 140 lifan engine and used a too long bolt and now there is oil coming out of the threads under his front sprocket is this and easy repair , we have a spare 140 cc lifan engin and was wondering if it would be easier to replace the engine casing , anyone have any ideas thanks

put a copper washer on the bolt. should stop the leak.

oil wouldnt come out of a bolt hole. It must be coming from somewhere else, usually its the neutral switch above the sprocket that has the rubber plug in it, that leaks and the oil travels down. also you've got the sprocket shaft witch has a seal, that maybe leaking.

shouldnt cause oil never runs directly behind the thread bore end and there solid not just weak. I thought i had this problem but it turned out to be the neutral blank plug and the sprocket seal, i had to clean it up 1st as u could see anything really, just it collecting at the bottom making it look like it were the bolt hole when it wasnt.
if it were a bolt you would of snapped the bolt before u ever broke the other side of the bolt hole casing.

mine had a crack in it:p
