thumpstar not running right need ideas please

right me and dad stripped the carb down because it was'nt running right and there was crap in it cleaned it put it all back together and set it up in garage and it ticked over fine and sounded good just went out on it and it keeps holding back and dying when opened up and poping out exhaust what could this be as it was a nice dry day i had to cut sort because it wasnt running well cheers for any help john:confused: :D

Make sure the slide seated properly when you screwed the top back on the carb....does the throttle open/close easily? If that's not it, pull the bowl and check that you didn't bend the float....holding the carb upright, measure the travel of the float, should be 15-17mm (if it's a Mikuni). Pull the primary and main jet and clean them also.

if you rejett try a 107.5 -110.0 they worked for me
