Hi all been looking for a pit bike and some help needed.
So many avalible and looking the same. I have gone through all the adverts on ebay and checked all the spec. Strength of the frame and swinging arm is my worry. Some of them look very weak.
What I am after is a bike that is going to be ok on the rough but not with a sill price tag as I have other hobbies etc. Does any one know what the Trickstar110 is like? any one got one? Frame looks strong.
Seems to be a basic bike but well designed?

I really dont know. Im after 3 bikes so if any one is selling anything i will be intreseted.

Feed back on the above most welcome

Cheers Guys :)

If you wanna be sure you get a pit bike built to some recognised standard then the short answer is buy a road legal version.
The shineray has a quality lifan or lonchin engine, the frames are quality controled, type approved, for road use, although its exactly the same as the off road. You just know all the welds are gonna be spot on.
The front forks are at least 33m, the shocks are adjustable and heavy duty, and quality swingarms are used.
All for less than £500.
You can always stick some off road tyres on if you want later, but to be honest the ones on mine are very good off road as well, quite chunky and k***ly, plenty of grip. And best off all you get to ride on the road legally, and many public places such as carparks, or private land with vehicle access can be used without the usual hassle.

Think of any deserted bit of road and its yours.....legally.

oh yeah..... no MOT for 3 years either.

What more could you possibly want?

If you are over 17 you can do a CBT on it and then you are on the first stage to a Full Bike licence.
Think of all the money saved in hiring a loan bike to do your training on.

Hi thanks for the info. Fortunatly i passed my test 23 years ago.

The swinging arm on these bikes tooks to be the area of concern. I think the ones with the brace/support look stronger rather than the longer type

I passed my full bike test as well......yeah the single trailing swingarms are generally very poor. They gotta have such a good spring and shock on the bike to work properly it doubles the price of the bike, and they still wobble under speed and load. The geometric ones with the addition frame looping over the arm are much more stable, and the shock acts directly over the back wheel axle in a straight line to the frame.

Trickstar is over priced for what it is... plus im going to set up a website called "ihatehandlingcharges.com" hahaha... hate companies that rip you off with delivery with a passion... my advise would be to go for a second hand Thumpstar or Xsport... if you are on a budget and want a new bike, go for a rampage... you can get the 110's for like £300 now delivered... Another good bike worth looking at is the Pitster Pro.. As avice already given, look out for bikes with Lifan, Loncin or Ducar engines... they are good solid engines that will last u a long time...

Hope this helps...

Hi Mike, I know what you mean re handerling charges. Ebay selllers have it sorted. Put the price of postage up and they dont pay selling fees on it. Ok we will collect, na sorry carnt do that due to our distribution set up. whats complicated about me buying with patpal then driving to the sellers address and picking it up? Nothing at all.
Any way I will get off my soap box now and concentrate on getting a pit bike.
