(i'l update this as i go along)
hi all,
Well i got my pit at christmas, woke up on a lovely frosty morning to discovery my amazing girlfriend had bought me a pitbike, it was second hand but could hardly tell, no idea what make of bike it is but it has a Lifan 110 engine in it.
[PICS SOON]
Rode it round, then washed it, MISTAKE, wouldnt start agen after that, thought nowt of it, got it home a few days later in the pickup. Still wont start, so decided i was giong to strip it and build it back up, long approch, but i guessed it was the stator so would have to take it appart to some degree, and i enjoy building bikes.
My plan of action
Get it running - Done
Fix Problem - To do
Strip it - To do
Tune it properly - To do
Replace all old parts - To do
General Clean - Doing last
Respray - To do
Stickers - To do
So is started getting it running, new CDI unit first as i hoped it might be this, it fired up first time, then after it got hot it died and wouldnt start, then blew my CDI, so i returned the CDI (claiming it was already broken) and went to the next thing, tested the stator, found the problem.
[PICS SOON]
Took the casing off, then struggled to get the flywheel nut off, in the end i jammed a spanner in the flywheel and the foot peg to stop it moving and finally got it off,
[PICS SOON]
Then the tricky part, getting the flywheel off, it took a while, but after giving it a gentle battering it popped off, and without damaging the crank :)
