View Full Version : XSPORT or THUMPSTAR!???

im going to buy one of the two in afew months and ive been researching, and have found afew times xports are supposidly better..

tell me what u think and if u have one of these whats good and bad,

both thae same both 3rd gear goes in most bikes haha well ive got a thumpstar and so id have to say they r better but mines a 120 beets the 125 xsports so there ya go

well yea i forgot almost everyone is going to say the thumpstar is the winner, but is it really?

i always say i dont care along as it dont fall apart and in that repect ive hardly had a problem but down the line everyone comes into trouble with there pitbikes at some point in time and it comes part of having a bike.

Xsport vs Thumpstar comparison:

xsport frame = same as last years thumpstars frame

engine: now this differs everyones bike, mine personally (shineray) came with a plain c90 Honda engine. The xsposrt usually comes with a shineray engine but getting the the point Honda make those shineray engines and so both of these engines should reliable as Honda are known for there reliability.
ps: as for those unlabeled engines some of them will no doubt be made my Honda too.

rear shock: On alot of pitbikes i see the rear shock is shockingly weak, so inless either of these pitbikes come with a decent shock then your be looking at buying another one anyway.

I dont want to go into too much niti griti but im ending this alot short. so just looking over those 3 things in terms of strength and reliability its all the same cause there pretty much identical bikes the only thing setting them apart is the lighting kit & panals (optional). As for alot of stuff i missed out like poor chain or chain slider etc well it doesnt cost much to change an add these things to thee Xsport and it will still cost less than the thumpstar in total.

But to be honest if you put them on an even price to price level i would go for the Thumpstar but cause you can usually find the Xsport cheaper and at 90% of the build quality of Thumpstar i would go for the Xsport.

On a final note: If your worried about either of these bikes for example: HT ignition coils failing etc then i would forget it casue its all the same its just a matter of which bike will die 1st which no one will ever know but whatever bike you choose you will have at some point start getting your hands dirty and fix the thing whatever the problem is and its all part of having a bike:) so Thumpstar or Xsport they will live as long as eachother to be honest as long as there well looked and treated right.

Really though entirely upto you.

oh and the chains on the thumpstars eat through the sliders into the swingarm

I keep hearing about that on different bikes but believe it or not on my bike ive had the standard black swing arm slider on all year. It has worn abit but nowhere near going through it. I keep thinking to myself does this chain/swing arm thing happen when 1. the chain is too loose 2. the rear sprocket is real small or 3. the angle or extra length that some swing arms have make the chain bend down at a lower angle , which eats it

what one is it you think?

There must be a way of sorting the problem than keep buying chain sliders cause as i said before my bike doesnt have a problem with swing arm wear hardly at all. I have a 16T sprocket front and 37 rear sprocket with an iris chain (orignally 134 links) which i had to short down, came with a split link.
