Hi all, just a quick question. My chain snapped a while ago and I don't have any way of transporting my bike easily at the mo. How easy is it to fit a new chain yourself, and how much would a new chain and chain tool be?
Thanks for looking

Fitted a new chain to mine on sat.
think my chain was bout £25 but its the nearest place to me and they do tend to rip people off. shouldn'y really need to use a chain tool, use a small hacksaw to chop the top of the rivet off the link you want then it will slide out easy. or even a small grinder would be better lol.
the open ends of the split link face in the direction of the direction the chain is going in. think thats about it!!
hope this helps bro, alex.

a good chain will cost you £20 i ride with a renthal r1, dead easy job to do but rather than buy a link extractor take your old chain with you to the mx shop where you get the chain from and they should be able to cut it to length for you.

GET LOST!!, you need to buy a desent chain from minixuk.com (renthal) you need a chain breacker, what you so is put the chain round the two sprokets, measure up how much you need to take off the chain, coz it will be to long, use the brecker to shorten it up to the right size, put it on again, link it up useing the little bits that came with it, tention to right teantion, lube up OFF YOU GO!
