A good earth helps alot of things, especially the spark, so its well worth making sure you've got one. An earthing point is created by making sure the earth wires contact bare metal on the frame a good contact means a good earth.
On mine the earthing point is behind the CDI, so remove the CDI and earthing points. Mine was held on by a single 10mm bolt, once remove the wires came free.

Where the earthing points are connected there should be bare metal, to make sure there is a good contact get some sandpaper and rub the area down until its shiny. If there is paint on the surface it will need rubbing back to bare metal.

Re-assemble. Ensuring you're earth wires make good contact with the bare frame. Its also worth spraying on some rust protector (waxoyl) to prevent the bare metal rusting.
Hope this helps
