Proving age of Bike

Hi,

I have what I believe is a 2009 Stomp Ace 160 which I am going to be using as a little Supermoto track toy, it is purely for fun use and nothing competitive (too old and fat for that now).

I want to make it Road Legal so that in the winter months I can take it green laning, this means I need to get a certificate of proof of age, I spoke to stomp and provided them with the frame number but they can't find anything on their system for my Frame number.

They suggested asking on the forums for ways to get proof of age.

Can anyone on here give me some pointers??

Sam

they are fobbing you off - they should have kept proper records, but as all they do is sell cheap chinese bikes in crates they pay no attention to the proper importing process, and their record keeping is therefore not up to scratch (or maybe deliberately poor so their tax bill for importing is lighter?). i bet they don't even have a system.

Only they can give you a dating cert, no one else can.

Your only choice if they can't do it is to try and run a Q plate.

Assuming it is the original engine you will most likely find a date cast inside the clutch side cover somewhere, but that doesn't help you get an age certificate.
