Worth a gamble ?
A guy close to me is selling this 1989 honda cr500 .
Bike starts and has plenty compression and needs a bit work , Left side crankcase is a bit of a mess but other than that seems fine . Worth £900 http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...ds/image-5.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...ds/image-6.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...ds/image-7.jpg |
Re: Worth a gamble ?
well worth a gamble in my opinion, last year when i had a lot more money i was looking at doing an AF conversion the only ones i found were like £2000. Also 500s sound amazing!!

Re: Worth a gamble ?
Id go for it aswell lol id probably kill myself on it but dam the 500's are a beast and as Jono said best sounding bikes ever ive a soft spot for them :)
But even if i did kill myself at least it would have been on a CR500 and i would have been happy as a larry at the time lol |
Re: Worth a gamble ?
buy it then get a nice jean michelle bayle replica sticker set and you would be a god in my eyes

Re: Worth a gamble ?
Might need bit more work than first thought , forks need serviced , expansion chamber and silencer replaced , seat replaced , plastics and seat sorted and frame powder coated ( no cracks or welds on that thank fuck )......
But like you say it's a CR500 and with me being laid up with my smashed wrist am needing a project to tide me over for next 3-6 months  |
Re: Worth a gamble ?
Wish you all the best if you decide to go for it and keep us updated with the progress if you do

Re: Worth a gamble ?
many of the AF convertions I've seen have been Cr500 to kxf for some reason and it looks excellent. not sure of the reason although I've been told they won't use the kx500 engine because its not as good.
