Top end assembly

Hi. i am putting the top end back together and have a few questions. How many of the locating collors go between the barrel/cranks and head/barrel. How many oil seals should there be? Is there some that go round the studs?
Thanks.

I believe 2 colors between engine and barrel and 2 between barrel and head. 1 oil seal between barrel. and head but doesnt go round any of the studs

Just make sure when u put it together that u turn the engine over slowly by hand via the flywheel to make sure the valves don't scrape or hit the piston. If its all good fire it up :)

Thanks. i will do. i should get it all back together tomorrow night. Think the wife would go nuts if i went in garage tonight. i did manage to look at the piston tho and it sits flush with the end if the bore. It was the new gasket making it look like it didn't.

I have got the engine back together and back in the bike. it started after a few kicks but there is a horrible knocking noise from the top end. When you turn the engine over by hand there is no clearance issues its just when its running. Ive reset the tappets and its no better. any ideas what it could be before i strip it back down. ta.

I forgot to mention. When i set the timing it was about 1/2 a tooth out. it was the nearest i could get it.
