50cc gears keep cycling
Hi
I'm new on here and no a bit about engines but no bike mechanic so excuse me if I seem a bit thick .
I bought a 50cc for my lad which all seemed fine .when I got it back I put in 1st or so I thought and ended up being 4th
Realised it was down shift . Then wondered how o got in top gear . Anyway set off 1234 then neutral ???? Discovered I can shift 123401234012340 or 4321043210 . Is there something inside that should lock off gear selector when I go all the way up (neutral) and all the way down (4th) I can't teach my son Gears with this issue .
Again sorry for being a bit dumb . It's s semi auto .
