Hi all, new member withs cheap bike questions
hello all, my name is ryan and i am from leeds.
i know you probably see the same topic time and time again from new members so i apologise in advance!
my friend has just bought a pit bike and i too would like one so we can go riding together, i am looking for something cheap as possible but also worthwhile, not bothered about really good build quality or something all that powerful as it will just be used for hammering up and down some local private land & im not bothered about having the top gear to go with my image lol.. never used for competetive or race conditon, also reliability is not a major issue as i am good at repairing mechanical things & own alot of tools.
i know i will probably get bashed for this, but i am looking at the cheap bikes on ebay, currently seen a KMD125 for £330 and a DMX 150 for £550, although i wpuld like to go cheap as possible rather <£400.. can you give any info on these bikes or feedback or recommendations on others. also would like to know how much power these have, thnx guys

You could get a decent 140 for around the £400 mark but if you want to go new don't spend less than £400. Look at the WPB boyo at £399 http://welshpitbikes.co.uk/

Re: Hi all, new member withs cheap bike questions
much appreciated for that! bike looks the real deal & i like the price.
you think there would be much difference in the 110cc & the 125cc?
also any idea how big it is? it says crf50 size bt this means nothing to me lol. I had a go on the bike in the ebay link i posted earlier (the one @ £329) and the size was perfect for me but any smaller would be no good as i am 6ft tall
thanks again

The links aren't working, is this one by any chance? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-KXD-12...item3a8789f301
It is the same size but the quality of the 125 is terrible. Not sure on performance difference but I would get the WPB over it any day as they are much better built.
M2R had a 110 but it isn't on their website anymore.

yes that is the one! sorry i am abit clueless on these pit bikes, i was thinking the 50 frame was smaller than the 70 frame!? but they are the same size?
yeah i can tell the WPB is of a much higher quality than this one on ebay.. im.considering orsering the one you have pointed me towards, but i now need to find out is it worth ordering the 110cc boyo or 125cc boyo, is it worth the extra £80 for the 125

Crf50 is smaller than the Crf70. If you are willing to spend an extra £80 look out for a second hand 140 if you can wait. Or you could just sell the 110 engine new and buy a 2nd hand 125 engine. Or if you stretch it another £20 you could get a large TTR style M2R bike, it won't be as quick as it is larger but if you are quite big it might be better and you could eveb sell the engine from this and put a 140 in it. http://funbikes.co.uk/M2R_Racing_TT1...ike(2487).aspx

cheers, after doing some research i think i would defenaitely need the crf70 sized bike as my mate tells me the 50 would be too small for me
so to narrow it down i need something 125cc+ with the 'crf70' sized frame and full manual gearbox (preferably all up) also considering 2nd hand alot more now as i think i could get much better bang for buck... i want something that i can use from the start, ideally pick it up on a saturday and go out on it the same/next day without mods/repairs needed!
currently watching this on ebay as it is local to me
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1310601938...84.m1436.l2649
thnx for your help again
