Hi everyone,
I'm not sure if it's normal for this model, ( all valves set correctly 0.10 mm inlet 0.15 exhaust.) but I'm having to go through kickstart process about 20 times before it starts. I've built up compression and let the kick start lever get past the hard point. I then raise the kick start lever to top and proceed to kick hard. I believe my technic is fine where this is concerned. I have spark and spark plug clearance is correct( 0.65-0.75 mm) fly wheel magnet connection is very close.
Not sure what else to say so I'll leave it with you all. Many thanks.

The only thing I can think of is just clean the carburettor. Take the jets out and clean out the emulsion tube etc.

Are you using the choke? When it runs and is warm does it start easier / run OK?

Yes I use choke and yes it starts easier warm. It needs choke til it warms

I've done all the necessary cleaning of carb and pipes and jets. It does have glitches when going up the revs

Is it starting better now then. If it struggles to pick it's revs up when it's cold you may need to lift the needle a notch. This means moving the clip down one notch.
