Grrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhh more bad luck for me

Bought a used van last week , 2005 Peugeot partner , low miles and in pretty good condition .
When buying it checked it all over . Clutch and gears all tight and smooth , no smoke or oil leaks or banging ect from the engine .
Was driving around all week and last night on the way to work just came of around about and gears stick became really stiff then all of a sudden loose as in flooping about everywhere while being stuck in gear .
Managed to get it home as I was late for work I could not look at it .
Checked a few forums and a lot of them say gear linkage is a comman fault with them .
Fingers crossed its that and not the gearbox that went

If the gear levers gone loose itll be the linkage. Just pop it back on

Where do you find the linkage ?
Can it be seen from under the bonnet ?

All peugeots with push fit linkage suffer problems with them mate, but new linkages there pretty cheap anyway the new ones are modified and shouldn't cause further problems

My Renault traffic did the exact same, was the linkage. Well the ball on top on the gear box had worn so linkage kept popping off. I welded a plate over the top of it and I was fine
