easy way to strip and re-fit valves!
thought i would post this thread as today i have stripped and re-fitted my lifan 125 valves.after taking out the tappets, rockers and cam shaft.you then have the tricky task of taking the valves out.you can buy a special tool to compress the springs but i have found another way.
first of all if you get an old 12mm open ended spanner and a long 6mm bolt or allen key.anything 6mm made of steel.place the open ended spanner on the valve making sure you have access to the split collet.if you push down slightly you can slide your bolt/allen key through the hole where normally your rocker shaft would locate.once this is in,the spanner operates as a lever which can compress your valve springs and take out the split collect with ease.pulling up the spanner forces the springs to compress!!fitting back together is just the same.TAKE A LOOK AT MY PICS AS THEY MIGHT HELP...

Great idea , but i wouldn't use anything with a thread, it could score the surfaces where the rocker shaft bushes go. Something smooth should be fine though.

there are no bushes in this head but your right in saying that anything threaded would score the holes where the rocker shaft locates!!i just used a 6mm bar.i wouldnt try using a bolt though..might do some damage.
