i have "fatbars" on my drz and on the end of the bars where the bolt is supposed to go in it is only 8mm so the retainers dont push into the end of the bars.

Anyway of getting round this ?

drill your bar ends out

the inner diameter of the bars is only 8mm not sure on the outer but it will take a fair bit of drilling

i have fat bars on my supermoto and had to drill the ends out to i think it was 14/15mm to fit my hand guards
