Re: Air fuel mixture set-up help
Hi all.....a bit new to all this so excuse my ignorance!! I have bought a wpb 160 twin with the yx engine 2011. I have noticed the exhaust system has a blue discolouration to it and after looking on the net and asking about I have been told that the air mixture needs sorting......? I don't have a clue about this and what I should be doing so any help would be grateful. My air filter is also a bit screwed and i need a new one which i aint got yet so any repairs or adjustments would need to wait until i have this yes?

If the engine is running fine then i wouldn't mess with the carb, you'll just end up with it worse.
Yes, put a new filter on.

Re: Air fuel mixture set-up help
to be fair i do notice a power over run in corners and when i put it into neutral after running a few laps it seems like she is over revving.....it doesnt when i start it up just after it has been running?

Re: Air fuel mixture set-up help
Get a filter first and check your valve clearances before altering the fueling.

Re: Air fuel mixture set-up help
I know this is an old thread, This post is just an FYI really..... The "cheap" Chinese imported Mikuni carbs ARE Genuine Mikuni's they just have a few cheaper options for the Chinese market... My last PC was built from Chinese parts and benches exactly the same as the more expensive counterparts. I hate how everyone says "fake" when its from China, Japan export to China and yes sometimes the Chinese will copy but they can get the made FOR China genuine parts
