Estate/4x4 boot size?
Does anyone use an estate car or mid-size 4x4 to carry their bikes in?
Whats the boot size like - just rough dimensions. I dont really want another pickup. Just not practical for lots of motorway miles, and can't really justify 2 lots of insurance on a van and car now.
Was thinking about something like a Mitsibushi Shogun or a 156 sportswagon or impreza wagon, off to look at some next week but just wondered if anyone fits their bikes anything similar or has any rough sizes?
I can get the bike in my current car but only with the bars down/lots of hassle.

Re: Estate/4x4 boot size?
BMW X5 has had my xsport in for about 2.5hr trip, on the stand with the bars folded back, fit easy just fold 1 back seat down, still room for 4 people

Its also got to fit the ATC in, and wouldnt mind being able to just chuck mountain bikes in too. Shoguns seem to be the biggest of the bunch, but they are all pretty high mileage in my budget. Will have to go do some measuring!

Still thinking about a trailer, Its just easier to have the 1 car for everything instead of having to hook the trailer up.
Pajeros and Pinins are on the list too

Re: Estate/4x4 boot size?
Thanks for the input, the X5s/Range Rover sports are a bit out of my budget - But sounds like its not difficult getting bikes in any of them.
Will need to take a tape measure with me
Cheers
