Re: Pit/Monkey engine - fuel injected
i saw something like this a while, it was a conversion kit for small single cylinder engine's..
heres the link http://www.mbe-motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/190?osCsid=all0rfn5srjtgj83v67o6t4do6
its a bit pricey though but is mappable & can be accessed through bluetooth so in theory you could run the program on a pda and alter the ecu mapping when you are out

I'll be upgrading the forks/shocks and the wheels will be from a 50cc supermotor bike like a DTR50SM or a CPI etc, 17" spoked wheels with disks.

I would love to spend a day at your house man.
Good choice of of ECU, you can do pretty much anything you want with one of those.
What are you gonna do about cooling when the turbocharger is on?

LOL - my house is a techies heaven, if you're up this way sometime drop me a line.
The way I saw it was if this project goes belly up I'll still have the ECU that will work with anything from a little single cylinder thing like this upto a rumbling great V8. I've been wanting to put something like a 4.4 BMW X5 motor in an old 3 series for a while so if it doesn't work out that may well happen.
Cooling wise I plan on getting something like an Earls or Serck oil cooler made up and using that, along with a 300% oil pump I've got and an inline filter. The TD-02 has water cooling if needed, so might hook up a rad and pump, driven off the camshaft drive - it can't be electric as the generator (even if rewound using the ignition source pole as an extra charging coil) is going be marginal with the fuel pump/ignition coil/ECU load on it.

Nah, mags would ruin the look of the SS, gotta be spoked to keep it looking right - it's going to be bad enough trying to hide a Turbo, intercooler and oil cooler on there lol

Re: Pit/Monkey engine - fuel injected
If you need my help with the 3 series project then you've got my number
I've got a few ideas for motor mashing but funds don't allow. I was looking at doing a rebuild of an old mini or mexico escort just to start off with, but they're in quite high demand. I'm not that clued up on old motors really.
Of course the TD-02 is water cooled. I reckon the oil cooler will probably be enough, it is only a teeny little thing after all but at least you've got the option of setting up a rad. Good luck hiding all that in the SS50 frame
