ok so i mashed may head up for somthing coming up my head! (small end bearings gone) so in going to rebuild it and have most parts on order. In just wondering if i can put a bigger jug and head on it or would it be better to have the cylinder head re.bored ???
Big bore wont be cheap, rebore will be if you can get the right sized OS piston to fit. But its not a "big bore" performance mod, its a maintenance mod usually cos you've goosed the liner.
That said I'm pretty sure the 07 cr85 is Nikasil coated... so your buggered.
it is nikklesil pal (don't no how to spell it sorry) iv been looking at another engine to use for the head and barrel its cheaper than buying a head and barrel at 160. This engine needs clutch plates so will fix the bottom end up once mine is done
so you want to buy another engine, to use the cylinder, piston and head from? Then repair the clutch on this donor motor, that now has no top end on it?
Jeez sounds a proper mix up to me I don't fully understand what's goin on really but wouldn't you be best looking for a 2nd hand barrel that's not scored. Karim will wire a.light up on it for you if your nice to him
