Have you watched the vid on youtube with Mark Eastwood on a CRF 450 he demolishes the lot.

i think jean michel bayle rode it how she needed to be ridden, also I'm sure dave thorpe might have had a handle on em

Re: I have just bought a monster .

After a week of waiting the forks are back from getting serviced and rebuilt .
New bush's , oil seals , dust caps , ect .
There was some pitting on the tubs , but had to expect that with the bike being 25 years old .
Will have to keep a look out for a new set .

Re: I have just bought a monster .

Took the monster out to my parents farm and decided to take it for a blast up the hills .
Thing is a flying machine and was running great till the track I was on started getting really ruff. bike stuttered a few times then came back to life then stuttered again and died.
Was gutted as 8 miles in the middle of nowhere and had no reception on my mobile . pushed it couple of miles back till I got a reception then phoned for the recovery team lol.
Still has plenty compression and nothing seems out of place ect.
I am suspecting a lose wire or the likes.
Haven't had the chance to check all the electrics yet but pulled the plug and seemed ok but not getting a spark.
Ach well the adventure continues .

much have gotten pretty rough to shake the electrics loose. luckily it shouldn't be to hard to find the culprit theres not really much electrical stuff on them lol

Re: I have just bought a monster .

Was rough as fuck , track had been partially washed away and boulders and rocks all over the shot .
When I get a chance this week will get to the bottom of it .
Might be the kill switch or woodruff key .

Re: I have just bought a monster .

Turns out it was the stator that was fucked ,
After a bit of research and tiny wee bit of moding I managed to replace the stator and fly wheel with a Honda cr 250's .
The monster is alive and kicking .
Even better I didn't need to buy it either
