a 125 should be very reliable if you maintain it right like regular oil changes ect

the honest answer is a chinese pit will never be as reliable as an aprilia RS or a Yammy 125 etc... nor will they be anyway near as fast, youd be lucky to hit 60 on a 125 pit.

the parts will come loose, it will break, but you'll have a blast riding it.

I disagree, I believe if looked after right a 4 stroke road legal pit bike is a much more reliable machine than a 2 smoker.

Re: are road legal pit bikes practical

i want good feedback lol. yes i do understand but the insurence for the yamahas and aprilia for a 17 is ridiculas and they have to be restricted. a good masia in god condition will be a good investmant wont it? if i lock and wire most bolts and replace them with stronger ones. also i can tune the engine not a problem. what about distance wil they go for 50-60miles an a time. i want to be able so go se my family you se lol

Bike: Road legal 140
Re: are road legal pit bikes practical

They should run all day. Aircooled engines tend to be reliable. Plus, The engine is based on a C90 which is air cooled. So if air cooling is enough for honda then its enough for a copy in theory....

My road legal is fine. A couple of hiccups but oh well... Petrol is £2 max to fill my tank. Will last i geuss 30 miles if ridden 'sensibly' ( Yeah right )

its not.

stock masai or shineray = no.

A modded bike would be but at the end of the day its a toy. not the kind of thing you would want to park up

Re: are road legal pit bikes practical

You can sit a 4 stroke at full speed all day and it will be fine. Much more reliable than a 2 stroke.

My 125 did about 100 MPG.

I prefer my pit bike to my old TZR125, so much more fun and I feel more comfortable on it.
