I had a look on the site but it confuses me!

Cheers,
CBT must be done, then u can. having a full car driving licence doesnt mean u can just jump on a bike and stick L's on it. CBT. read google for the meaning

[quote=atticus;52764]

Category A2 license - Standard Motorcycle License. The practical test must be taken on a bike of between 120cc and 125cc. If successful, the full license allows the rider to ride any bike without L plates up to a maximum power output of no greater than 25kW (33bhp), for two years. After the two-years the license is automatically changed to allow you to ride any size bike. Again, if the test is taken on an automatic or semi-automatic machine then the license will be endorsed with a restriction limiting the rider to drive only automatic and semi-automatic machines up to the power limits as above.

Training and testing for Category A1 and Category A2 (restricted) are the only options available for learner riders under 21 years of age. The effect of this legislation therefore means that for young riders, no one under the age of nineteen will be able to ride a motorcycle more powerful than the 33 bhp limit. (Unless they passed a test before 1st January 1997.)

can i do this at 17?????

Yes, i'm 17 with a full (33bhp restricted) licence. By the time i'm 19 I will be able to ride any bike unristricted.

Yes, you have to do a CBT before you can start riding no matter what your age is.

Re: Motorcycle Laws

right. when i was 16 i had an rs50. then done my theory at 16, as if i was going for a full moped licence (its the same as a bike one )

i then booked my full bike test at 16, for two days after my 17th (wanted it on my birthday but couldnt get in ) had afew lessons at 16 on my rs50. then two lessons on the bike that i had to do my test on ( a crapy hondu cg 125 ), one lesson the day after my birthday, and one two hour lesson before the test. passed the test with only two minners.

then got on my honda vfr 400 nc30 that had been "restricted" i knew the bike shop VERY well so they happened to "fall out" before even going in . was a waste of money anyway as i didnt need it for insurance (caral nash) never got pulled or had an accident!!!!!

then at 19 got a fzr600rr
