how to change brake pads

someone was asking how to do it the other day so as i did mine today thought i'ld show anyone who wants to know
how to change front brake pads
1. locate your front caliper bolts and un bolt

2. take caliper and get alan key and un screw the two small screws

3.old brake pads should fall out so have your new pads ready to replace(pic of old and new pads you can clearly see difference)

4.line up new brake pads and place back in caliper with holes facing downwards and lined up with caliper bolt holes, then take your alan key and replace screws and tighten (don't no why my arm looks so fat and deformed in this pic lmao)

5.once you've done that you may need to get a flat head screw driver and price the pads apart a little to fit back on your brake disc

6. rebolt caliper to frame

then your done

exactly the same for rear pads but you need to remove wheel to get calliper off

Re: how to change brake pads

nice tutorial jen just 1 thing you missed out

when you put the new pads in you need to reset the caliper pistons before hand (as in push them right in flat) a G-clamp is best or you can use moegrips. If you dont reset the pistons the pads will brake at the wrong braking point and the pads will be hard to put in or end up having them rubbing the disc.

heres an example > http://www.pitbikeclub.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7375

otherwise all good. Admin can move this thread into the tutorials

thats ok yea, long as the piston sits flat but I thought doing it with a screwdriver would dig into the pads
