Insurance on a car/van!

Well atm im currentley doing some driveing lessons(with my grandad in our local pub car park) just to get to learn the basics really for when im 17 next month. And just thinking a head to when/if i pass my test, which is cheaper to insure? A van or a car? Just it might be worth me buying a van rather than a car to transport my bikes around rather than wack them into back of my corsa(if i get car this is what im getting)

So my question is basically, is there much difference between insurance costs for a van and a car?

P.S Mods didnt really know where to put this thread but move if needed

your provisional licence dosnt cover you to drive a car at 16.you wont be insured either and a public house car park is public land and therefore you need insurance.fair enough you have permission from pub landlord but does he know your 16 with no insurance?

your 16,you cant drive a car full stop unless your on private property.who ever is driving the car needs to have insurance.normally the learner driver is a named driver on the car owners policy.
