you havent put the slide in correctly.

it needs to be right the way down, and sometimes it goes downa bit, but not all the way, you need to turn it, so the notch on the neck, and the indent in the slide match up

i had a similar problem the other day were my bike would not come off choke and when i was ging was not fast and kept backfirings, i messed around with mixture screw and fired up with the choke off but kept high revs so brught the screw out abit and it idles and rides lovely now

This is good advice ^^

Put the mixture screw as far in as it goes, Turn the bike on, Keep the revs up, Keep bringing the screw out until your bike idle's.

Should be fine tho.

This only works on cheap carbs that only have 1 screw for mixture/carb.

Re: carb settings?

if your bikes spluttering and back firing your running rich.theres 2 screws on most carbs... air mixture screw and idle screw.mixture screw wants to be
1 1/4 - 1 1/2 turns out.then adjust idle screw until the bike can idle at a constant speed without stalling.
