In Car Entertainment (custom build) + pics

EDIT - UPDATE COMPLETED 07/08/10

Finally completed the build and am very impressed with the results both visual and performance wise here are a few pics, as always comments and critisum welcome

Just thought i would share what i spent today doing...

Fitted into my car:
2x JBL GT5-12 12" Subs
1x FLI Loaded 900 amplifier
1x ProSonic 1.0 Farad High Performance Capaciter
A lot of MDF
And a lot of 8AWG wire

Still needs to be covered and a pvc sheet place over the amp but looking good for 1 days work i think, Let me know your thoughts people

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

EDIT:

To test the full capabilty of the amp without having to worry about my new subs getting blown i wired up my Class-D 15" subs from my house and the power the amp gives is unreal, Loved it haha

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

P.S all controlled from a dvd flip out 7"screen head unit in the front of the car (look carefully in the pic and you will see it)

EDIT;

After buying audio carpet i decided i no longer liked the layout lol so i completly ripped it out and started again, then started to carpet the new build, its not fully carpeted yets only partly as the un-carpeted sections i want to use blue audio carpet but am having trouble trying to find any for a "reasonable" price. But here it is at the moment... (also have a 12" blue light to stick behind the amp that still needs fitting)

me and a friend build a sub box to fit in his mini, in-between the race harness and roll cage = no room for a big one

Sure is, so theres not alot of room to fit audio equipment in, took me hours trying to find a way for it to fit and still look good but got there eventually

The head unit has 5.1 surround which runs the standard pug speakers no problem and with good clatriy, so no need to upgrade them just yet. The power drain is pretty high but the cap has stopped the headlights from dipping and the amp now recives every bit of power required (even for the really low hard bass notes) without causeing headlights to dip etc. I also have a dash mounted voltmeter gauge and that will stay at a constant 13.4 -14 volts while the engine is running so the alternater is copeing just fine. Was going to cover in standard audio carpet but first i think i will go to a car interior shop and geet a quote for them to cover it in black and blue vynal material
