Carb Removal

Whether your replacing your carb for better performance or just cleaning it out, youll need to now how to remove it.

TOOLS
Flathead Screwdriver
10mm Spanner
Pair of Pliers
Small Container

1. Turn your petrol tap into the ''off position.

2. Now you need to empty the fuel in the carb. To do this, take the pipe coming out of the bottom of the carb, and point it into your small container (You could use a butter tub or something)
Now undo the screw at the very bottom of the carb. The petrol in the carb wil now drain into the container. MAKE SURE YOU TURN OFF THE PETROL TAP FIRST, OR ALL OF YOUR PETROL WILL BE LOST!!!!!

3. Put the container in a place where you wont kick it over. You now need to remove your air filter. To do this, undo the jubilee clip that holds it on using your Flatheaad Screwdriver.

4. Now you need to disconnect the throttle cable from the carb. To do this you need o unscrew the ''cap'' on the very top of the carb. It may be very tight, and you might need to use your pliers to get it undone. Be carefull as the cap is spring loaded, and might ping out very quickly.
When you have removed it, the spring will come out. Make sure to keep it in a safe place. You can now let the throttle cable hang from the bike, but be very carefull not to damage the needle on the very end of it. (The bit that came out of the carb)

5. Now all you need to do is undo the two 10mm nuts that hold the carb to the engine. When you have done this you can slide the carb off the studs and remove it. Put all the nuts and the spring in another pot or container so you dont lose them!

Now you are ready to install a different carb or rebuild the one you just removed.
I hope this tutorial helps!
