Re: Carb Settings
Hi Ricky I changed my carb to the molkt 26m. Was a mess about with that other carb. I have it on the middle setting of the needle is this right. It runs buts abit boggy in 2nd. It also revs a little at idle.

Re: Carb Settings
Chances of having the right jets in your carb straight off the shelf is pretty unlikely. The needle height only really affects the way the engine accelerate through the rev range. The engine boging or running rich is not connected to to what gear you are in. If you're old carburettor was running fine and then started to play up and you found no amount of judgement could get it right then the first thing to do do is check the valve clearances and then strip and clean the carburettor completely including the little holes in the emulsion tube when you take the jet out. Carburettors don't just stop working they either get clogged up or or the valve clearance alters which then gives the impression there is a carburettor issue. If you found the engine was difficult to start what and / or you were getting fuel blowing back through the carburettor into the air filter then the issue is with the valve clearance.

Re: Carb Settings
you shouldnt need to be adjusting the fuel mixture screw that much , i doubt the jets would work in the molkt as each carb has different layout.
i would check valve clearance as a matter of maintenance , clean out the mikuni carb and put t back on with mixture screw set at about 2 turns out.
check cable route to make sure the throttle slide isnt slow to return.
adjust idle screw if its idling to high .

In just need to get it running bang on mate. I've had nowt but problems with the mikuni that came with the bike. Any advice on the molkt should I clean that etc

Re: Carb Settings
I bought a new car my bike a couple of years ago that was supposedly for my 140 but the jetting was for a 90. So I had to rejet it. If the bike runs ok but still a bit rich then just lean it out half a turn and give it a test.

Hi can you rev out in 1st gear,i find all my other gears perform well, through the rev range, but 1st gear really stumbles at the end when trying to scream it

Re: Carb Settings
Just wondered if anyone has tried using a CV carb ? I've just fitted one from a Honda 400 V twin to a 160 engine have still to test it. It's for a road going application and it fits well and looks quite good.
