I got the Masai for a very good price and I did a deal with my old scooby to get this one, It was bog standard when first I brought it 18 months ago. In the last 5 years I've had 3 of em

Few little pointers...

Keep an eye on the rear wheel, If you find the spokes have come loose, Dont freak out, Its just what the Masai does. Only cure is to replace then wheels with some good quality ones. Ideally SDG fitment so you can run disks and sprockets from OOR.

Check all the nuts and bolts etc. Wouldnt really recommend thread-loc because Chinese bolts have a tendency to snap, Thread-loc wont help one bit. But just keep an eye on:

Gear selector
Kick starter
Engine mounts

Other than that, have fun. They are great bikes!

You'll find alot of parts wont fit, The Masai is very unique. CR3 Xsport parts and Thumpstar Road ripper parts will be interchangeable.

Heres some inspiration for you...

Bearing in mind its looking a bit tatty now I've stunted it up...

Thanks for all the advice

Awesome looking pit mate, Your bike was the reason I went for a Masai.

I've been messing with it tonite just going round tightening checkin bolts and tidying up little bits like the wiring.

Managed to sort horn out was just little screw on the back like you mentioned

I've already found out about the back spokes ! I will change them soon.

Would like to change sprocket, what size front do I have on now mate ?

Re: White un's Masai 125

why not just check the spokes are tight in the 1st place

I love traffic lights, i jus wheelie right off leaning forward, quick change into 2nd brings the front down and then your gone .

I also fitted lighter flywheel, it rips

And when you change your wheels (To SDG I hope), Go for a 37t rear sprocket, As apposed to the standard 39t rear.

This gearing difference is quite a big jump. But the 125 engine will pull it easily. I stunt my bike with this gearing set up. I can slow wheelie (were talking walking pace here) and everything. The standard gearing is way too short and snappy, And IMO dangerous for the road.

I got caught out a couple of times trying to make a quick get away at the traffic lights!
Yeah I've wheelie'd it a couple of times by accident pulling away !

Will any front spocket fit ? I only ask cause as you know everythin seems to bit different on the masai's !
