Kill switch

My Shineray came with a key ignition but all it seems to do is operate the electrics (Starter, lights, speedo). Once the bike is started the battery becomes redundant anyway.

The only way to kill the bike is to quickly turn the choke on or stall it. Surely this isn't normal?

Is the key ignition meant to act as a kill switch too or should I fit one to the handle bars?

Is a kill switch easy to wire in?

Thanks
Lewis

Re: Kill switch

Okay that makes sense so does that mean there's no need for the key?

Perhaps there's a way the kill switch can be wired to the ignition like a car?

Just buy a kill switch and splice into the correct wires in the loom, the reason it has a key is so the bike cannot be started without it, same as any car or road legal motorbike, the ignition (key) will still cut the engine if you splice in a kill switch, but it means the switch and key will have to be turned on for the bike to start, not just one or the other
