12mm 12" wheels 15mm forks

I'm just wondering i'm going to be ordering my new 12 inch wheels tomorrow but before i do i noticed that the front wheel itself has a 12mm spindle and my forks run 15mm how do i go about getting a 12mm spindle to fit or will i need a 15mm with different bearings in the wheel or something?

Any insight would be appreciated as these wheels are relativly expensive and won't want to risk them not fitting.

Thanks, Jim.

you cant put 15mm id bearings into a hub which have 12mm id bearings. They have a different o.d so wont fit. Just find the right wheels which have 15mm bearings already fitted. There's plenty about

Just get some spacers to go inside your fork legs. Run a 12mm Axle, With the 12mm wheel bearings, And your 15mm fork legs.
The spacer tube you will need is this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/15MM-OD-X-12MM...item4a97b8cc61

Push it into the bottom of your fork leg so its flush with one side.
Mark it on the other side.
Take it out, And cut it JUST short of the mark. So the tube actually sits inside the fork leg at both ends. You dont want it sitting proud of the fork leg otherwise it will mess the spacing of the wheel up.

Do this for both fork legs, And you're sorted. May be a bit fiddly when putting wheels on and off, But once It's on, You'll be okay.

I've also read on the Fiddy forum that Copper Gas pipe works? Not 100% on this but I've read on there that its 12mm ID and 15mm OD.

Ben
Ouch that does sound like a pain no wonder i couldn't find any bearings.

Thing is i don't currently have access to a hacksaw to cut it down or any other cutting tools to cut it down as my tools were stolen so i'm making doing with wilkinson crap at the moment.

Would i be better off buying a 12mm rear and 15mm front overall then? If so where can i grab some fully assembled wheels, i.e innertube tyre and rim with bearings. I was going to buy these:
