Mikuni Carb Setup.

Hi guys i am new to the forum so apologies if i have started a new thread for no reason. i have a Mukuni carb which may need some setting up.

i have read a few threads regarding the mixture needle position (Screw till fully bedded and screw out 1.5-2 Turns?), I have a question as i am wondering what the screw on the picture does?

Cheers for the heads up, i suppose the position of this screw really depend on how the bike idles once running or is there an ideal position this should be in?

Bearing in mind the bike wouldn't start the other day as the spark plug is knackered, once changed i am hoping the bike will start fine but thought i would play about with the carb, give it a clean etc as the previous owner was a bit of a r*tard.

Am i correct in saying the mixture needle need to be 1.5-2 turns out from fully bedded on these carbs? (Needle fully bedded = makes carb lean & Needle fully out = makes carb richer?)

Yeah the mixture screw should be on the bottom bud 1.5 is a good place to start then run and adjust 1/8 at a time till it seems right

Yeah, seen a few people recommend this tool. My previous carb mixture needle was located on the side of the carb, so much easier to adjust.

What other carbs do you guys recommend for a lifan 125 engine ?
