Re: kill switch

What you need to check is if you have the correct type of kill switch.

switch type a earths the signal to the engine out cutting the spark so should be open circuit when not pressed

switch type b needs to be made for the engine to run providing a path to earth and when is pressed breaks that connection.

As long as you have the same switches it does not matter as to which wire connects to which as it will either ground the circuit or make then break the circuit when pressed.

test resistance using a multimeter, if they both provide the same resistance readings pre and post button depression just plug in the replacement and test

Re: kill switch

theres 2 types of tether switch.

1st one being if you pull the tether it will break the circuit this can wire to a pit bike the same way as a push button kill switch.just connect the wires to the original connections on your pit loom.dosnt matter about colours.

2nd type pull the tether to make the circuit.this is wired differently on a pit.both wires from the tether switch need to go to the ignition coil.one wire on each of the spades.dosnt matter which way round.just tape up the old kill switch wires on the loom.

it dosnt matter which type of tether you fit.you wont be able to start the bike unless you have the lanyard part.

there both just as secure.they just connect to the ignition circuit differently.

i told j.i.m how to wire in the push kill and tether switch so they work independantly.

you just wire your tether to the original kill switch connectors.
