How do I know if the choke is on or off?

This may sound idiotic but I just revved my bike, turned the petrol use thing off, but now I don't know if the choke is off? Can anyone help me? theres no thing on the bike that says off or on like on the petrol usage switch.

Is it pull/push or rotating?

Re: How do I know if the choke is on or off?

Some info about using choke.

Activate your choke when your engine is cold, this is a must.
Even if your engine starts without choke from cold, this is an optimum way of getting the most life out of your engine.

Using choke gives your engine a richer mix (more fuel). This means there wont be such a big bang in the head, which means the engine will warm up properly and not too fast which can cause problems.

Use choke for a few minutes, this is all you need.
Also, don't thrash the engine (high revving) whilst it's on choke, or else it makes the whole procedure pointless.

Leaving choke on by accident or on purpose can cause your engine life to reduce rapidly. NEVER forget to turn it off.

Re: How do I know if the choke is on or off?

Are you sure that's the choke and not the fuel tap?

Also this thread is 7 years old, might have been an idea to make a new one instead

EDIT: Also, the stuff above about "rapidly reduced engine life" sounds dubious to me. You won't do any harm (especially on a 4-stroke) by having the choke in the wrong position, it just won't run as well.
