Hey guys first time on here in a long time hope you are all well!

Anyway a week ago I brought a project cheap as chips, X sport 110cc 2004, £100 very good nick all bits still on there, Electric start 12V battery, but it wouldn't start had a very weak spark he said it was the carb it wasn't (stator) anyway fixed that, now it has a very strong blue spark, Timing is good maybe off by a couple mm. compression good.

It really wants to start but wont, I have checked a lot on this bike and the only thing i haven't checked is the valve clearance and I was just wondering if this could be the reason it won't start, I'm going to buy some feeler gauges tomorrow but any advice would be great any question please ask!

so the carb is clean? was it left standing for a while? have you drained the old fuel and put fresh in?

I assume so, but yeah cleaned the carb Pilot jet had a gel like gunk in it but all clear now, do you think that is due to old fuel, it was like gel in the pilot?

possibly, so have you dropped the old fuel out? whats the compression like?

No haven't tried new fuel yet, soon as i got it i emptied the tank into a jerry can, i didn't know old fuel was a problem i thought fuel was fuel. compression wasn't amazing when i got it but since i have put new electric/stator in compression is really good, when you kick you can hear it wants to start but just wont, could it be valve clearance do you think, if not the fuel? thanks for helping.
