welcome to the forum. I suggest you wait for the yx160 then but a 150 at 18 is a tuned engine but might be safe if u get 1 from ooracing as they tend to do safe side tune ups but in general the 150 is at roughly 15hp

that was my thinking but ooracing did say there 160 was high maintenance so u could kinda say unreliable due to inconclusive running

Re: which engine is best?

i cant see a reason why ooracing would lie

but i also cant see why demon would order 50 in if they were such high maintinence ive been in contact and he says they are monsters once they are started as they are quite hard to start becuase they have so much compression.

i personally think that they will be just as reliable as the yx140 yx150 etc...

if you want true reliabilty then go for the lifan 150cc but that has lower power than the yx engines as you know but then again it totally depends on what you would rather have reliablilty or performance

as it will be quite hard to find a lifan engine to produce 18hp and it to still be reilable

i personally think the yx160cc should be fine as they have been gr8 over in the USA and demon seem to have confidence in them

Re: which engine is best?

am restricted to 150cc. are the ooracing engines based on the yx engines. the engine will need to be able to with stand high revs (where peak power is) constantally for about 10 mins. i will be using it to power my lift fan on my hovercraft so will be hopefully be able to remove most of gearbox and drive it off input shaft. Has any one got any exploded diagrams of engines and what the gear ratios and primary drive ratios are

cheers all
