Just bought a Honda Cub 90 :D

Just bought a Honda Cub 90 Off a friend 5months tax and test and 2 new tires for 200 quid

Thinking about putting a 125 lump in it and getting a 6v stator as I believe these run on 6v?

Anyone else had one and done things to it? Not planning on going crazy with it. Does 52mph on flat now with the standard 90cc engine in. Thinking If I go with the a 125 I can gear it for more top end and it should have enough umph to get up there?

Any help would be much appreciated
James

Re: Just bought a Honda Cub 90 :D

Kinda a long story to the bike. A friend off mine got a NSR125 which was given to him off his mum for his 18th birthday however he came off it on a greasy roundabout after getting it home it had no spark and he had no time to work on it nor the facility's. He got offered a swap for a cub90 a swap and 100 quid his way. Having it a week an half he's been offered a RD125 and is 200 quid short so he sold it me as a non runner. New spark plug and super unleaded and she goes well. 50-55mph pulling stronger and wheelie like a dream however plan is to stick a 125 as I'm 17 and have a full car license once I get my CBT we should be all ready to go Plans are to have it as a little run around and the occasional green lane.

stick with the honda engine just change the gearing. ive had loads of them and a chink 125 pit engine doesnt come close to the real deal honda engine. if you are going to change the engine make it worth it and stick something really big in it just grind the barrel capacity of the barrel and re paint but id keep the honda engine to put back in when you want to sell it

Would you say to just give it a build then? i.e piston, gasket, Think I'll port the head and manifold just to help it out abit?

Thanks
James

I'd leave it standard. I doubt there is much locked away power. Keep it for what its designed for - utter reliability.
