brand new engine kick...............
just a quick one,my mate just bought brand new wpb 140,when he went to kick it over,he got piston tdc then kicked it over but kick start slipped,surely this should nt happen on brand new bike.it has only slipped once but he is now flapping over it.

What do you mean slip?
Its quite common for pitbike kickstart gears to slip occasionaly if not engaged correctly when kicking over.
If you mean the kickstart lever on the shaft splines then just make sure its tight, which is mentioned in the pdi instructions.

no,its the actual shaft inside engine.it only happens now and then,just sounds and feels wrong when it does slip???

surely the gears should engage how ever the lever is kicked? not a problem i've ever had without there being broken teeth?

I could be wrong but... Is the clutch adjusted correctly? It might be slipping. Depends what sort of engine the WPB has

that doesn't sound right to me ! i've never had that problem with my wpb and i've had people who have never started a four stroke kick mine over and it never slipped once

thats why i set up this thread,its doesnt sound right,especially for a brand new one,
whats this nack to kick it over then so it wont slip??????????????
on my wpb 140 i get the compression right up,and bang,it fires up and same applys to my crf 450???
something must be up for it not to engage,its brand new! its only had 10 mins ride time
