Chinese mini engines
Ok,
I am really sorry about all these questions, but seeing as i will not be saving for an ace 50 engine, and then adding an 88 kit, I am now wondering what engine to fit to my crf50.
I guess i am now looking for a semi auto chinese engine, but as there are so many, i am a bit lost haha.
This guy on planetminis.com has fitted a lifan 86cc engine to his, which looks great and looks just like a crf engine, however i cannot find any on any websites http://planetminis.com/f8/my-fiddy-done-139037.html
This 90cc engine looks good too, and a good price, however, i want an engine that looks like a crf one, but this has a different side casing http://www.tboltusa.com/store/piranh...9cd36dc359b8c4
Another option i was looking at is the lifan 110cc semi autos that stomp sell , however if i was to buy one of those, i would like one of the ones that look like this, however in silver ( http://www.mojomotorcycles.com.au/ad...n110_thumb.jpg)
So, i am looking for an engine, that will fit a crf50 frame, is larger than a stock 50, but still looks very similar. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
Luke

Re: Chinese mini engines
Why 88cc mate? I have a lifan 88cc engine and I don't see the point? There is no masters 88cc class anymore.
Or is it just to use on practise tracks?
I definitely wouldnt bother putting an 88 top end on a *****y bottom end. I'd stick with honda. The only reason why mine is 88cc was it came like it from lifan.
Just get a 125cc?

The only reason i was looking at a lifan 86cc is because they look like 50 engines haha,
I don't think i would be racing the bike, just using it for fun really, and on practice tracks.
Yeah, i would get a 110 or 125, i would just like to find one that looks like a 50 engine, otherwise it may look at little silly haha

Re: Chinese mini engines
Beautiful bike!
Go on to fiddyforum, sign up, and PM fiddyparts. I'm sure he'll be able to sort you out with one of the FJR88 lumps. They come standard with a IRK kit fitted by lifan and they go really well!
The accel is beast. I love mine.
I guess they are the same size as 50's?

Thanks a lot!
Yeah, i've got an account on fiddyforum, i'll have a look at the fjr engines, but i know it sounds really picky, but i'd really like something with the same shape case on the right hand side, so that it at least looks like a crf50 engine at first glance haha - if you get what i mean?

Re: Chinese mini engines
Well, that's up to you. But not having one that looks like a crf50 case would easily save you 70 odd quid.
Think about it.
engine from john, can't be more than 150 right?
Stomp engine, about 165 posted I believe.
You still need, 88cc head. got to cost 100 easily.
IRK kit, is included I think, but not fitted. So IRk replacement tools are needed, you will need a flywheel puller and holder, and an IRK holder too. That can't be cheaper than 35 ish.
Personally, I'd rather spend the 150-200 on Johns 88 lump, with everything fitted no pissing about, then have to mess about spending 280-300 quid from stomp.
Think about the bigger picture here, saving 100-120 quid. Does the sidecase really matter that much? Besides, I'm sure It can be changed to a honda one.
