Kinroad XT50 GY / 50cc Enduro
Hi there, Just bought my son a Kinroad XT50 GY / 50cc Enduro and hoping for some good avice.
I will be cutting the black and grey wire on the cdi unit, throwing on a K&N type filter to make it go a little bit faster.
I need to know will I have to ajust the spring tapit as the bikes revs will be higher and does anyone know how must RPM the Cdi will give out when I cut it. I would like to know if I should give the carb a tweek at the same time.
Any tips on sprays or waxes that might prevent the bike rusting " Cheap **** "
Well! Its for a year...

This my friend, is a pitbike forum. That bike is completely different from a pitbike I'm afraid (unless it runs a horizontal style engine) so i dont think anyone will be able to help you.
I'd suggest WD40 or just oil on a cloth.

They do run a pit style engine judging by the picture.
Not sure what cutting wires will achieve if they run a normal pit/monkey CDi
If you want to make a 50 noticably quicker you need to up the capacity 72 or 88cc kits are a direct fit, bigger carb, better head (or gas flow the one you have) and possibly a better exhaust if the stocker is really restrictive.
Or just drop a bigger engine in

Re: Kinroad XT50 GY / 50cc Enduro
ah yes! you would be right.
Yeah I'd say.
Bigger carb. The stock one is probably what, about 14mm? up it to a 18mm or something.
exhaust (again only if its very small bore and restrictive, it might not be, leave this till last)
dont bother changing or cutting wires on the cdi though. Makes no difference.
As above, a 88cc kit would probably be the best thing for performance.
To be completely fair though mate. If you start with bore kits its starts getting silly money, drop a 110-125cc pit engine in there (probably a straight swap) and a cheap second hand 110 wont set you back more than £75. Just grind the CC off the head.

Cutting wires I have done too many cdi's, these cdi's are resticted, the restriction controls the rrpm. This will make the bike do a extra 5-10 mph.
Please if your not sure or dont know, dont give out bad info and just for the record its a 6 pin. The bike will be road legal so bigger engine is out of the question. I do intend to re-jet or replace card and upgread the head to a 70cc
