What sprockets?

Is there an optimum balance for front and rear sprockets for a 125cc
Daughters mini pit gears are very short. She could probably push off with one foot faster than 1st gear pulls.
Not sure whether to increase teeth on front, back or both.

+1 on the front is equal to -3 on the rear, if it make too much difference on the front then fiddle with the back a little

Re: What sprockets?

Try a 17 tooth on the front. Any bigger will catch the flywheel cover

Re: What sprockets?

Will give that a try. A friend said that if I went down the route of getting the talon alloy sprockets that I would also need a rubber o-ring chain. Is this correct?as that makes it all a little dearer

Re: What sprockets?

You should be able to sort your gearing with a change of front sprocket only, if you have any spare cash then it's up to you if you want to use it. Off roaders don't do many miles and a Talon rear sprocket won't wear that fast with a standard chain, yes it would be better but its not needed.
