You want Aluminium or better still Stainless steel..Don't fu*k about with steel.

Ebay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/aluminium-tube-19mm-od-x-15mm-id-x-200-long-/330666072570?pt=UK_BOI_Metalworking_Milling_Weldin g_Metalworking_Supplies_ET&hash=item4cfd3bd9fa

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/18MM-OD-X-15MM-ID-316-STAINLESS-STEEL-TUBE-X-500MM-/320634097115?pt=UK_BOI_Metalworking_Milling_Weldin g_Metalworking_Supplies_ET&hash=item4aa7480ddb

Does the spacer have to be 20mm o.d????

if so,then purchase a length of 20mm o.d bar and get the i.d machined out to 15.2mm

Re: Where to buy 15mm spacers UNCUT

wanted it so it sat in the bearing seal nice - but its not essential cos its for SM anyway, so not v dirty for seal.

will alu be up to it with a 2mm wall?

and will 1.5mm wall thickness be enough is stainless? The steel ones on the pit bike are pretty thick...

i use 30mm alloy round bar bought off ebay for a few squid a length then turn it down in my lathe and do the shoulder that way then just run a 15mm drill though the centre on the lathe, job done

Stainless is alot harder than aluminium, but a 2mm wall on alu is plenty ok for a wheel spacer

remember though, the tube is 15mm and if your wheel spindle is dead on 15mm you will have to bore out the tube..I'm guessing your spindle will be just under 15mm..best to check with a mic or vernier

Would be great if I had a lathe, and didn't have superbike engines all over my garage in various states of strip down ready to suck up any metal flecks

ive got a lathe, miller, band saw, pillar drill, guillotine, bending machine and engines scattered everywhere..just cover them up,or plug all the orifices

im currently milling some stainless front mudguard brackets for my track bike, but have gsxr 1000 motor im building on the bench, just covered it up with a sheet...

invest in a small model making lathe, you can turn small stuff then..

i got a boxford with a 4ft bed and 4 inch throat..so can turn 8 inch material.plenty big enough for what i need.

ebay sell cheap 2nd hand lathes.
