Jetting up

Goood morning,
Im kinda new to all this carb stuff.. only really injection, but im willing to learn

Been reading some threads on here about setting your carb up.
I currently have a lifan 140 with a 26mm "mikuni" carb which is proberly fake.. was cheap as chips tho.

When i stripped it down last week to clean it i noted the main jet was 100.. is this the correct jet for mine? ive currently set the needle at the 2nd notch from the bottow as i thought it was running a lil rich as set the air screw to its original setting with was 2 turns or 1 and 3/4.

The issue im getting is on choke for example the exhaust was glowing red, only a dull red but red enough to stay well away from it, also was hunting and popping.. off choke it ran better but still poped and banged and was reluctant to rev.
Havnt taken it out to really give it beans to check the plugs.
What steps should i take now?
Ive changed the oil too.. should have checked the valve clearances first

Sorry to ramble on lool

Chris
