Re: Stomp KZ Build log

The forks are probably different buddy?
Not sure.
It's defo a 220mm disc, and as you can see in the picture. 1 Hole in the caliper bracket, tapped it to M8, stuck a thin washer behind the lug on the fork leg as the caliper bolt holes are raised slightly.
And bolted it all up.

Strangely enough, it fits perfect. Pad contact is exactly where it should be. Very lucky I'd say...

Quick update if ya like:

I got the bearings out of the swinger. Took it to my mates workshop, heated the swinger, both bearings practically fell out after a few hits with a decent quality chisels.
Went to local bike shop, the fella read the number off the bearing, which said "6200". He gave me a pair of 6200 bearings, I came home with them to find that they are different!
Bloody Chinese rubbish. After putting the dimensions into google, it turns out they are actually 16101 bearings.

Frame is painted now. Lovely colour!

Front end is now complete. I fitted my old risers from my Bandit 1200 forks as they are lower, and fitted my high rise Renthal bars.
They seemed to work good on the TZR pit, so hopefully they wont be too tall on this one. If they are, then it's fat bar's for me.
Also wire wheeled the Red Posh 1/4 turn throttle, and fitted that.

Plastics! Yammy graphics are on order.

And I stuck some new sounds in the garage today as my laptop stopped working last week.

Re: Stomp KZ Build log

It's a supermoto bike, so the forks dont need to be some superb MX ones.
I've re-sprung them, and chucked some really heavy oil in them. Really firm feel to them now, so it should be okay on track. I can adjust the feel of the front end with the tyre pressure if needs be.

Colour is a Vauxhall code. Got a couple of tins from Halfrauds.

You see, I'm sure my forks are the same as yours anyway ? 45mm fitment between bolt holes on the fork bottems ? Which i'm sure is like the standered fitment for the SDG bikes.... I had to get the original hole welded up drilled and retapped smaller, then a piece of ali welded on and drilled/tapped 13mm across to allow for the bigger disc!

Looks like its gonna be abother Binge beast! Them yamaha of troy(i think) graphics look slick too!

Strange. Next time im in the garage I'll take some measurements.
I think the difference will be with the lugs them selves, and how far away from the axle they are.
The caliper is identical to yours, so it can only be down to the distance of the lugs on the fork leg, from the wheel axle.

Little update. Managed to get swing arm bearings from Ebay for £1.95 each.
My front tyre has just arrived today too. So I'm sorted with tyres.
Dunlop TT92 rear and Sava MC31 front. Should run okay.

Bought a pair of ally reinforced hand guards on ebay last night, along with a full bobbin kit, and talon rear sprocket from OOR.
Front sprocket is coming from Adam at PBS.

Gearing of choice is 16/39 on 12" wheels. It wants to be fecking right because I've bought top quality sprockets.

Will get some more pictures up as parts arrive.
