Re: New Mini Pit

Hope it looks good when it's finished mate, didn't realise about the swinger bearings or id of done them. But if your pleased with it I'm happy. An yes the bike is ace fun to ride maybe not as fast but tends to put more smiles on. Keep the 125 In mate just put a spacer above the throttle slide so she can only get half throttle to start with then let her have the lot

Be carefull if buying pitbike usds as it might really mess up the geometry of the bike.
What do you mean by needing a new top clamp for bigger bars?

mart35 has offered me some forks to fit, so will be trying them, He says they will fit so I cant see it messing up the geometry of the bike

I cant see it making alot of difference to the geometry of the bike, aslong as they are roughly the same length as the standard forks its not going to change how the bike sits. I can see what you mean if I was to put normal 'crf 50' fitment forks on (such as the ones on my other bike) But they do come in the shorter length to fit bikes such as the demon x mini pit and the stomp juicebox's/ ace 50's.

Genuine Honda forks run really skinny bars. You can buy a different Top clamp from Fast50's, Red barron etc, to run normal SE bars.
I wouldn't get Honda forks to be honest, no good for SM, especially for a beginner
Plus, they are drum brake front wheel.

Re: New Mini Pit

Not sure, I have asked mart the length, He knows they are going on the mini pit so Im sure he wouldnt offer them if they didnt fit.

When you measure the 'fork length' where do you measure? I measured my original ones last night, and from the bottom of the fork leg to the top nut on the top of the fork leg it was arround 52"

Re: New Mini Pit

I usually measure from the axle hole, up to the top of the fork leg (Highest and lowest possible top yoke mounting points)

52" seems a bit too long. My YZF450 forks are probably about that long.

Re: New Mini Pit

500 - 550mm is about right for CRF50 size forks.
Then 700 - 800mm for midsize forks.
